I have a Dell 8250 computer with ATI radeon 9700 pro with TV out.
When I try and watch something on my connected TV, I cannot see anything shown on a media player. I can see my computer screen and everything else that I do on the computer.
However, when I want to watch a video clip in Windows media player, I can see the player on the TV, hear the sound, but see nothing on the media player screen. Yet, everything works on the computer screen.
Same when I use Power DVD. I can see the player on the TV, but nothing is shown playing on its player screen. I can see everything around the player on my TV screen, but nothing is shown in the player screen itself.
Yet, of course, everything is shown on my computer screen.
It seems no matter what media player I use, the player screen on my TV is blacked out.
I am sure that I have the proper codecs installed, or do I?
Can anyone help me out here?

There is a overlay tab in the driver settings > make your have 'Same on all' or better set it to 'Theater Mode'.

set your overlay to your tv.The problem is that you see everything with your pc monitor. That shows that your overlay is set to monitor.Set your tv as primary and the monitor as second display device
