Hello everybody.
Me and lots of my friends have a little problem that i'll try to explain.
Suppose this situation:
1) I have a DVD movie with english and spanish original subtitles.
2) I've got another language subtitle in .sub, .txt or .srt format
3) I want to put this subtitle in the dvd movie structure, so i can access it when i'm playing the movie in my standalone dvd player.
4) Can i do this???
Is there any guide??? i can't find it!!! i know that IfoEdit can give me a help, but i don't know how can i use it to make that.
Please help me.
Thanks you all for your time, and this amazing free site.
PS: Sorry my english:(

The first thing you have to check is whether the sub file you have is for the same version of the movie and whether it has timecode in it...

Generally the best thing is to synchronise the subs with the video with a subtitle program...Check the software section of doom9 for them...
So, according to the authoring program you'll use, you'll have to pass through various transformations of your scripts, until they come to your authoring programs script file...

i prefer DVDMaestro, because it uses text-based subs...
You'll probably have to use various tools that convert from a script to another...I think you should use the SSA>MaestroSBT channel...
Check MaestroSBT to see what it accepts as import scripts and work with that...

i know i didn't give you too many hints, but this thing depends strictly on your initial script(what kind of script it is) and with which program you will author at the end

My problems are essencial two:

It's very simple:

use any authoring program that can process subtitles.

1)demux your movie to audio, video and subtitle streams (for example use doitfast4u).
2)reencode your video if necessary to fit on a disc
3)reauthor your movie and add the extra subtitle you want
4)update with ifoupdate and leave option copy audio and subtitles tables on.

This question has been asked a couple of times lately so any searching wouldn't harm either :sly:
