- Is possible to know if a dvd authoring was made by a specific program? (scenarist, maestro, etc.)

- Is possible to rip a DVD game like "who wants you be millionaire" for example? Can you play this game after, normally?

Thanks

http://www.dvdinfopro.com/index.php

This can reveal the DVD media information. If you are lucky, you'll find out some hidden info.
Spruce Techonogies may leave some still image in the DVD not to be played in any DVD player.

Yeah, once I ripped a DVD and it had a hidden Spruce Technologies frame that I never saw while playing it. Was pretty wierd.

Any still image added to the DVD during the authoring may or may not be shown on screen. You can author a movie which occupies a lot of disc space but not being shown everytime you play the DVD. Some Hollywood production even incorporated some "trash movie" to occupy a lot of DVD-9 space in order to fill up the DVD so that people would find it hard to rip with effiency, of course, these "trash movie" is not shown.

I even found one disc that repeated the end of the movie at the beginning of the main VTS -- and used a VOBID that was never referenced in any of the IFO files. It was very confusing the first time I pulled the video out with DVD2AVI for reencoding...

Yeah I've had that too...Minority report region 4 comes to mind. I'd ripped the files in file mode so it confused me too. Now I always use IFO mode :)

Does anyone have any experience using MenuEdit to strip off the unwanted part ("trash movie" is sometimes in the menu area!!!)?

After stripping away the "trash movie", one has to repair the DVD structure by ifoedit...I've never tested myself with this advanced function.

DVDMaestro (and derivitives) leave the spruce 'still' in all the _0.vob's and the video_ts.vob, usually the first cell.

ReelDVD creates everything as video's, even the menus, and due to this the video_ts.vob and the vts_01_0.vob are both missing (it only supports 1 VTS).

that is the two most noticable authoring programs that would be used.

Oh and the Millionaire game should work just fine. DVD-Extra just uses the interactive functions inside the dvd spec, so as long as the structure of the disc is retained it will function just fine, the same can be said for any dvd title for that matter.
