Get VirtualDubMod (http://sourceforge.net/projects/virtualdubmod), open your ogm and 'save as' avi with video mode set to 'Direct stream copy'.

If u have the proper ogg playback filters installed , any player will open it. U sometimes have to force it to open a file with the .ogm extension. Like wmp.

Would you kindly read the forum rules, especially rule 1? The simple term 'OGM filter' gives a link to a thread called 'OGM FAQ' on the very first result page.

sorry,

i havenīt read the ogm faq but iīve read several other faqs about virtual dub. anyhow i canīt view the media stream although i installed the full virtual dub package. i only search for a way how to detemrine if the media stream is corrupted or not... therefore i posted this message in order to get help for my problem. sorry if i ask for things which are still discussed in faqs. next time iīll try to give the search for faqs more time before posting something...

sorry

frank

VirtualDub doesnt support OGM. And you can only view OGMs if you install the right filters (see OGM FAQ). You also need to install the right VfW (Video for Windows) codec, otherwise you won't see any video.

...iīve installed the ogm filters but nothing happend still a black movie. moreover i donīt know where to find the right video fpr windows codec ( it is not written in the faq). i thought such files are automaticilly installed when installing the new media player...

sorry for the newbie question.....i still read most of the faqs but sometimes it is difficult to find the right answer when you donīt know what youīre looking for..

thx

You can use Gspot to find out which codec you need, you can find it here www.headbands.com/gspot and then use google to look for the codec that it indicates you.

...hmmm very strange iīve still some problems with my ogm file. after couples of hour fpr searching the right codec now iīm able to play the ogm movie in virtual dub including sound. the problem is that as soon as i make a direct stream copy virtual dub doensīt copy the audio (track) of the ogm file although i hear the sound when playing the movie.

does anyone know a solution for this problem. file information gives me the following information: "audio tag: 0xFFF, not decodable, Extensible"....mhhh what does that mean....

thx
