View Full Version : Adding another audio track to a DVD

Hi All!

I've searched this forum but wasn't able to find a clear answer, so here goes. I created a DVD using TMPGenc DVD Author (I like it's easy to use menu generation features) and now have my resulting VOBS. Now I want to add another AC3 audio track to the VOBS without affecting the menu's or anything else. I don't care if the second audio appears in the menu, just so long as it's accessable through the audio track button on my DVD player.

Is there anything (IFOedit, Scenarist, etc...) that can help me interject another audio stream into an already mastered DVD (vobs, ifo's)? If so, could you kindly list the steps or point me to the reference instructions. Many thanks!!

You have to search harder :). Just kidding.

Thanks Coona! I followed the advice given in the thread you linked to. Here's what I did:

1) Made a title set using IFOedit (with my two audio streams)

2) Made a title set using TMPGenc DVD Author (using only 1 audio stream) with a full menu structure

3) Used the VOB's that IFOedit created (i.e. all vts*'s that were non zero) along with the video.ts and merged these with the vts*0.vob/ifo/bup that TMPGenc created.

4) Run "Get VTS Sectors" in IfoEdit on the final merged title set.

When run, the menu shows up, and when the movie plays, I can select the audio tracks with the dvd button.

It works great...except for one minor thing: the chapter's that the menu points to is off a bit, and proceeds to shift more and more as we get deeper into the movie. I looked at the main VOB's create between TMPGenc and IFOEdit and noticed that IFOEdit created 4 1GB vobs whereas TMPGenc created 3 1GB vobs and the final VOB was 700MB+. Perhaps this accounts for the shift in chapters being pointed to? Is there a way to correct where the menu points to when mixing title sets this way?

Thanks again!

Great to hear it works :). Iīm not IFO expert but in my opinion chapters refer only to video stream in VOB file. It should work but it donīt . Try to search or post in IFO/VOB EDITORS forum.
