View Full Version : Seamless Branching in Scenarist

I know it can't "properly" be done, but after somewhat following OxP's guide, I was able to remake the Deleted Scenes, using the same footage over in each title and keeping the vob size to a minimum... However, when I looked at my ifo file each program had layer-breaks in the "play all" title folder. I set each new scene as a program... should I have just made all the scenes cells instead? I did NOT use any of the films original ifo files because I'm just practicing the seamless branching OxP came up with.
thanks

TMpeg determines that the layer break occurs in a discontinuity in the VOB sequencing. When you see 'layer break' a single time in a single title, its probably the real thing. All the rest of them are places where the author created a discontinuity in the VOB by chumming other assets into the mix. This can happen a lot when you send the disk for approval and they notice where they forgot to send you an asset. You add it into the middle and not from a linear encode, and viola, discontinuity.
The layer break will always be *one* of the ones that TMpeg lists. Sometimes its obvious, sometimes you have to pull out the sector editor. Just keep in mind that layer 0 must be larger than layer 1.
