OK ive followed the Guide, ive run dif4u,then reauthorist which gave me 45 for the bias and 4058 for the avg. bitrate.Click auto size then ive hit encode.Docce4u opens, i leave it on the roboshot-bach template.I change the image quality thing from 16 to 10 like i have always done when doing svcds and movie only dvds.i left every thing else as it is.

Pass' 5
QFactor 40
Bias 45
Quality 10

Ive then let it re-encode the movie.

Its finished so i compiled the dvd as the guide said with scenarist.

The final project has ended up at 4.40GB.I have no idea whats happened here.

The only thing i can think of it being is the roboshot-bach, as when i used a standard vbr with my svcds and movie only discs the size was always under the limit.

Oh and the navagation seems a bit wrong. If i open the video_ts file in ifoedit and play it in that, it does'nt go to the beginning of the menu,it goes straight to the chapter selection.

Ifoupdate also said ' warning : source to destination mismatch' Original time 2:00:17,new authored time 2:00:16.

I have check the original ifo and the new updated one with ifoedit.
And it the first vts set theres 2 pgc,the first is the movie, the second ifoedit says is 00:00:00:10 (vob id 3)/ 10 frames long, but the new updated one is 00:00:00:00 (vob id 2)/ 0 frames

Hi,

I've had this a couple of times too. It doesn't happen to often fortunately (most of the time, the size is perfect) but sometimes you'll end up with a project that is just a little too big. Reenecoding some piece at a lower bitrate to make it somewhat smaller is the only option I'm afraid. In my experience this happens sometimes when some titlesets have to be demuxed by vobid and some just by PGC.

The source to destination mismatch you get is no problem and quite common. It's only one second so I wouldn't worry about that.

The question about trhe dummy PGC 10 frames and after reauthoring 0 frames is also something that happens a lot. When using reauthorist dummy PGC's video are always imported as still show. If you want to have the exact same structure you'll have to import the video (of the dummy PGC) manually and set it to slide show. Then in the track editor set the time of the slide show (which is by default 10 seconds) to the time of the original (in this case 00:00:00;10). After this replace the originally used video in the scenario editor by the newly created track. This also solves problems that sometimes occur: a black screen after the main movie or extras which won't go away untill you press the play button)

But this has nothing to do with your project ending up too big, that's just a case of a small error in the bitrate calculation.

Thanks Mate.I'll have ago at that dummy track. Not sure if it is a dummy track or a track with loads of commands in.

take a look there...
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=60127

it seems a problem with RA 1.0.0.0, i think it have a problem with the subtitles to make a right calculation... when doing something with +28 subs, my new dvd size is 4.980MB, so tooo big to fit the 4.700MB

the dvd's with regular subs (around 2 to 5), almost had never problems.

ThanX...

I do not use reauthorist for the bitrate calculation . I'm quite sure it's not the subs (at least not in the combination dotitfast4u-docc4u).

I never keep so much subtitles anyway. Since most programs are written with NTSC in mind I can imagine though that the authors did not have a total of 29 subs in mind, since NTSC titles hardly ever have more then 2.

not sure how much it matters, but Aquabubble is a PAL user :)
