DVD Shrink 2.3 Protection Error

I have been using DVD shrink for about 3 weeks and it has worked quite well for me. I recommended it to a friend who bought a Pioneer 106 and it was not as successful for him. Apparently after he select the disc and the program begins to analyze the disc, he gets the error message:

Error fail to read from file

The Reason is: Copy protection error
The read failed because the sector is encrypted.

I was/am at a loss because I have never had anything like that happen before.

Does anyone have any insight as to what is going on? If so do you by any chance know how to fix the problem?

Try decrypting the disc with a conventional decryption (like DVDDecrypter) and reporting the error (if any), since it has much more verbose errors.

If it works, then you can just load the files into DVDShrink.
