View Full Version : Problems.. CCE Crashing

This kind of came out of nowhere since a reinstall but it does it everytime I try to encode using DOCCE and CCE 2.50. Basically I go through with DIF4U, run ReAuthorist, hit Encode, DoCCE loads up and imports the job and when you start encoding, CCE crashes.
This isnt a CCE issue. It works fine with DVD2DVD-R. The crashing only happens with DoCCE4U.
I also notice that DoCCE seems to import some wierd stuff and misses titles so I have to wonder if the scripts are getting hosed up somewhere. If anyone can help, I can post some data from a DVD Im working on now.
I should note that Im using the latest versions of everything and Avisynth 2.08.

hi
honestly this a bit of a shot in the dark, but have you checked the avs scripts doitfast4u created? it seems to me that maybe you got a problem with the 'fool cce trick'.
if you do not find anything, perhaps it would be a good idea to post one of the scripts so we can check.
furthermore in a recent version of doitfast4u there has been a avisynth 2.0x bug. also there has been a broken version of 1.3.0 available for a day or two, so redownloading it wouldn't hurt either i guess...

If CCE does crash during a 3rd pass encode and you were planning to do a 5 pass, for instance, would it be possible to resume the encode or start the encode over again from the 3rd pass without affecting the overall quality? My CCE crashes occasionally as well and I'd love to find a way to resume, saving an enormous amount of time. If this is possible, can someone please list the steps I'd need to take to do this correctly? Thanks.

CCE crashes instantly, as soon as the first pass starts.

Hi, why would you ever try to do a 5 pass with CCE? It's waste of time. After 3 passes it doesn't have to do with quality no more.
I only use one pass (Roba look a like method --> differs a bit from the Robshot method) and I get good quality. If you insist just use two. I would first check the one pass method, if its suitable then hold it. For the Robamethod you have to search this forum.
For your information.

Well, I've always heard that 5 passes gives optimal results, and I've no problems with it. Perhaps using 3 or less passes would suffice, but I always encode when I'm sleeping or afk and most of the time it finishes when I get back.
But putting that aside, if there isn't a way to redo a pass can I import the incomplete encode to Scenarist without causing any errors? Last time I tried it didn't work.

Well I dont know, sometimes I interup the encoding (1 pass) and afterwards I can watch the encoded movie in windows mediaplayer. I never have loaded an unfinished movie in a dvd authoring program before, only watched it with mediaplayer. But if its fine with mediaplayer I wouldnt know why Scenarist will complain.

I'm also having the same problem as KungFuCow. Anybody found the
solution to this ?

even though its a similar issue.. it may be helpful if you can give the versions of the applications you are using (in particular the batchccews or docce4u version) and what version of cce and possibly eclcce you are using.
also see if you can play the .avs extension files in your doitfast4u directory in windows media player. and if they play, try to manually import them into cce. does it crash then?

Here's my setup:
CCE v 2.66
Docce4u v 1.1.0.1.5
eclCCE v1.8b
I set it up on another computer & it works fine.
Thanks for the help.

i tried that combination of software and it worked fine. try this... reboot.. get the newest avisynth(2.54) from www.avisynth.org.. install it. load doitfast4u.. go into the avisynth(avs) script editor.. hit 'reset to default' and redo the doitfast4u step (ie hit DO IT!) into a clean directory.. then continue from there using the new directory. report back how docce handles the new scripts
