Been encoding with xvid fine (dvd>xvid) until one of my movie will not start second pass. Well it starts but just sits there at 0 fps. I know i have enough space on my hd, both versions (2.52 and 2.08) avisynth gives me this problem, and no error messages starts. The virtualdubmod log file looks something like this.
1.Starting up: VirtualDubMod build 2066/release
2.AVI:opening file
"C\DVDRIP\GenerationXcops\dvd2avi\generationX.avs"
3.AVI:Avisyth detecte. Extended error handling enabled.
4.Beginning dub operation.
5.Dub:I/O thread has not cycled for ten seconds
-possible livelock
repeats step 5 continuously.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

edit: I am using the latest version of Virtualdubmod

Hi,

I am having the same problem here (with both VirtualDub & VDubMod latest versions), but it is straight crash here - at frame 0 of second pass, which is far too annoying when you have wasted several hours. Bit I think Xvid codec is to blame, although I have done everything according to the guide in PDF format that was mentioned in doom's forum (sorry I don't remember who was the author). I've tried all three latest builds of Koepi, Nic and Umaniac, but they all do the same thing.

Here is what the crash looks like:

An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'xvid'...
...while compressing frame 0 from 00c40000 to 00fc8a98 (VideoSequenceCompressor.cpp:361)...
...while running thread "Processing" (thread.cpp:105).

I'm sorry I cannot help you, but I hope some of Xvid people might come in with some hints, although this is not their forum ;)
