I was just curious as to what the Bias is in ReAuthorist is ?
And why the high the bitrate is the higher the bias is.
Thanks

In regards to thesecond question...
With a low bias, the bitrate is allocated with a focus on the complex parts.
As the bias is increased, more bitrate is allocated to less complex parts, meaning the distribution is more like CBR.
The theory behind increasing the bias as the bitrate rises is that you can afford to expend more bitrate on making the less complex scenes look nice because the average bitrate is large enough to take care of the complex scenes.
Hope that makes sense.

I get you, but i would assume you would want more bits allocated to more complex scenes, thats why i set the image quality slider to 10.

mmm...well to to clarify the bias thing, if you have an average bitrate of say 2000, to avoid macroblocks on high-action scenes, you want a relatively low bias. But if the bitrate is say 4000, using the same bias could mean that you are wasting bitrate on the high action scenes - e.g. they may be getting 9 megabits where 8.5 will suffice. This excess bitrate may be better spent making the less complex scenes look even nicer.
That's how I understand it anyway.
Now, the image-quality slider relates to the allocation of bitrate within a frame, it does not affect the bitrate allocated to the whole frame.
The CCE manual (2.66) advises that this number be increased - not reduced - at higher bitrates.
I believe the the theory here is the same as with the bias - i.e. at a high average bitrate the complex aspects of a frame will be easily taken care of, so you can afford to increase the value so that the less complex parts are taken care of well.
