Trying to figure out how to delete a pgc out of the main movie vob set. Problem is there is two instances of the movie:
pgc_1 (prog chain): [title(ttn): 1] [02:25:25.03 / 30 fps] (programs 33) (cells: 69) (uses vob-id: 1,2)
pgc_2 (prog chain): [title(ttn): 1] [02:25:25.03 / 30 fps] (programs 60) (cells: 69) (uses vob-id: 1,2)
As you can see the only difference is number of programs. I can't strip the vob id's as they use the same ones. Nero encode shows them as shared and thinks it's 6 gig. When in fact the vobs are only 5 gig. How can I get rid of pgc_2?
Thanks

If you want to do a movie only backup, use DVD Decrypter in IFO mode and just rip PGC 1. Then create new IFOs with IFOEdit.
I think you should also correct VOB-unit pointers with IFOEdit.

Just saw this. Assuming you only want the movie, try using DVDShrink to isolate the title you want to keep. This worked for me on Kate & Leopold. By choosing the "reauthor" mode you will see the titles split up in the lower right pane of DVDShrink. Click on one of the titles and play it back to see if it is the version you want to keep. Drag that title to the upper left pane. Then click on it. In the upper right pane you can choose which audio tracks and subtitle tracks to keep while stripping the movie down as small as possible without resampling. If you want to use DVDShrink's resampling (transcoding), select a compression that reduces the movie size for one DVD-R or DVD+R, click on backup and select a folder to send the results to. If you want to resample using CCE or TMPgenc, then just click on backup and DVDShrink will copy your title set with selected audio and subtitles to a new folder. After that, you will have to really reauthor your movie.

I'm afraid you cannot use DVD Shrink in this situation, since here Bear236 has got a multi-PGC title, not two titles (both PGCs have [title(TTN): 1], and so the second one is a non-entry PGC).
DVD Shrink won't let you select one PGC, unless it coincides with a title (single-PGC title).

Hmm... sounds like an angle thing somewhere or language change like the beginning of Episode I.

Here's a description of Kate & Leopold which is why I was suggesting the use of DVDShrink.
PGC 1 and PGC 2 use the same VOB IDs for common segments throughout both the director's cut and the theatrical cut. The VOB IDs are numbered 1 - 32. There are no other VOB IDs for the movie even though it has 2 PGCs. For the director's cut PGC 2 drops certain VOB IDs. For the theatrical cut PGC 1 drops certain VOB IDs. In addition, each PGC has two angles for selecting English titles or French titles. When I selected "reauthor" in DVDShrink, it displayed 4 titles to select from. Each title it showed was displayed with a size of just over 5 gigs. The whole image for this DVD was just over 7 gigs in size. The four titles were the director's cut English, director's cut French, theatrical Engish, and theatrical French. If DVDShrink can filter through a complicated movie configuration like this, it has the potential of solving the problem Bear263 stated.
If Bear263 doesn't want to see if it works, then that is his call. If it were me, I would try anything that is somewhat automated to see if I could solve my problem. If it doesn't work, then it is only my time I've used and I've learned something more about a free program that may solve problems in other complicated movies.

Now you tell me. That movie was a pain in my back side. Of course I didn't ask. haha. How was the finished product.

I had to shrink the movie by 10% to fit it on a DVD+R and it turned out quite well. No skipping scenes, no French titles, and I got the entire director's cut lasting 2:02:47. It was a movie only backup. Unfortunately, I hadn't heard of DVDShrink when I was originally working on this movie so I gave up out of frustration. Even if you don't use the shrinking features of DVDShrink, you can do some pretty cool stuff to isolate dual aspect movies and keep original quality of whichever version you want to keep. I posted some other successes I've had with DVDShrink in the thread called "Angle issues with Kate & Leopold.

Bweeston, I think you're right.
It seemed to me that DVD Shrink could only select entry-PGCs, but I was wrong (I started using it recently): I discovered that you can select even non-entryPGCs (DVD Shrink indicates them as Title n (continued)).
So, Bear263, it could really be your way.

@Bear263
Try using DVD Shrink 3.0 beta 5. When you have loaded your VIDEO_TS.IFO , go topside and click on View and check "Combine Shared Titles".

Sorry it's been awhile. Been really busy. I really appreciate everyone's help. I got it working and simply enough. All one has to do is delete pgc 2 from vts_01. Then get vts sectors. This was a infini film and as most people know, they add things to their movies which was in pgc2.
Thanks again.
