I really don't understand how to use re-author with 3.0 beta X. It opens a new window exactly the same as the first one...

I really would like to try this in 3.0...

Thanks for any help.

once the empty "re-author" window is opened, simply drag&drop titles from the first window inside it.

How do you keep the menu structure? In the original there are folders such as menus, main movie and extras...when dragging files over the folders do not come over.

You can not keep menu structures in DVDshrink when doing reauthoring:

You can't drag and drop folders, only Video Titles, the little blue blocks stored in the folders. If you drag and drop them out of the menu folder, they just play but you can't press buttons etc., because in reauthoring the structure of a DVD is build from scratch and you can't keep the original ifos, where all the information on the structure of the DVD and workings of the menus is stored.

And editing the original ifos in such a way that they will be compatible with your standalone, when you remove titles, is relatively difficult.

That's why there is the still picture option in DVDshrink, because you can keep the title streams while at the same time you can compress them to just some MB's. Therefore you get a compatible DVD with working menus and the original DVD structure.

So if you want to do the main movie only and keep the menus, just put everything except the main movie and the menus on Still Picture in the first window and hit backup.

Or try Nero Recode where you can replace all the unwanted titles with a single still frame (which for example says "This Video has been removed").

It is said of the not yet released Instantcopy 8, that it can do the main movie only while keeping the menus, but we will have to wait and see how and if it works.
