Hi!

I have done some intensive searching after some kind of an in depth guide or tutorial for Sonic Scenarist. And I indeed found something that is 8 pages big, but there is just one problem... It's in Russian

Here's the link:

www.spline.ru/DigitalVideo/ScenaristPart1.htm

You should see that this guide is very detailed ( with examples and downloadable example projects ), and written for even beginners to play with Scenarist.

I tried to use an online translator, but it is not very accurate. Here's the result from a Russian online translator:

www.translate.ru/url/tran_url.asp?lang=en&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.spline.ru%2FDigitalVideo%2FScenaristPart1.htm&direction=re&template=General&cp1=NO&cp2=NO&autotranslate=on&transliterate=on&psubmit2.x=59&psubmit2.y=12

Yeah I know it's a long link.. just copy the whole link into your browser.

Now! If someone here in this forum, is from Russia and speaks write good english ( or vice versa ), please translate it. You will first of all learn Scenarist to its fullest, and you even get the chance to get a job as a proffesional DVD Authorist in Hollywood But most importantly, you will give people the chance to Author or Re-Author their Video sources and DVD's the very profesional way.

Now I will start hoping and cross my fingers ( guess I'm not the only one ) that someone is willing to the job.

eh, Did you check the link, and all it's pages? I don't think doom9's guide can compete with it at all..
Just would be real cool with such a detailed guide / tutorial for Scenarist that covers EVERYTHING. :D

I took a look and it looks very detailed indeed. But I think the guides at doom9 are really nice too and trilights site gives a lot of information. If you want some really detailed info you can also check the scenarist manual. :sly:

No without kidding every info is very usefull ofcourse. Too bad my Russian isn't what it used to be, so I cannot help you

heheh, I get your point ;-)

Guides on doom9, I only see one..?
Trilights..., you got an url for that one?
The Scenarist manual suckz I think. Deffently not for beginners. ;)

try : http://dvdguides.trilight.net

there are different guides on doom9 which cover different topics both for scenarist and maestro. Saying that those guides cannot compete with the one you are mentioning is not very nice considering the time and effort put in by the authors.

eh, I said I think, aka I guess that the russian guide can't compete with guide(s) on doom9. I can't read Russian, but I can see it's very very detailed. I never meant to rack down the guides here on Doom9, I'm sorry if it's understood that way.
I was looking for a detailed guide that includes every little detail for Scenarist, I found it, and asked if someone would be interrested in translating it, thats all. I thought I was doing a favour, but instead it's understood as a kind of an insult... great!

Evanesco,
It's so nice of you to make such links for the Russian scenarist guide. The Doom9 guide is NEVER enough for any knowledge craving person on the subject. The manual is very limited, without any example especially on the advanced issues.

I absolutely agree that every piece of info is welcome and I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. So if I'm did I'm sorry.

But I just think that a lot of people put much effort in sharing information and writing stuff and also deserve credit for that. But I just misunderstood the post.

So, are there anyone who are willing to translate it?
I find it hard to believe, if there is no one interrested.

I guess the question is more like:

Is here anyone who is ABLE to translate it?

IMHO, if here were somebody, there would probably be a russian
Doom9-mirror here already.

just my opinion,

So, you think that there aren't any russian readers of doom9 that reads english?

a Russian mirror is in preparation. Once it takes off, I can ask those guys to have a look. However, the guide is only 4 pages big, and they don't go a lot farther than my Scenarist guide (judging by the pictures). Pages 6-8 talk about advanced menu programming.. it looks like an illustrated version of the Scenarist manual. I once thought about writing a guide on that, but at that time DVD was still an exotic format and it wasn't worth the time since very few people would actually read such a guide (we're talking professional dvd authoring people).

The original Russian author emailed back and said:

Hi Paul!
I am an author Russian Scenarist Guide. I am going to write it in further for my Russian readers. I read these posts. Sorry, but I have no time for translate my guide and my english knowledge very little for this work. I will ask my friend and customers about this work.

It seems that the training program for Scenarist has an agreement that any of the advanced authoring material cannot be openly discussed and leaked out.

Many members of this discussion board seem to be learning on his own trial-and-error, and stumbling through chaotic experiences. The knowledged-men are hiding away from open discussion on the advanced conditional programming,... bound by the legal agreement (I assume there is one).
