View Full Version : Can't seek in OGM

Hi,

I just made a copy of Apocalypse Now Redux which resulted in a 4.3 GB OGM (3 GB AVI + 2x AC3). Now, I can't seek through the OGM in any player (tried WMP, Zoom Player, BS Player), the player just freezes. Seeking through the AVI works perfectly fine...

I read that OGM seem(ed) to have problems with file sizes larger that 2 GB, but I can't really avoid that in this case. Is there any known workaround?

As far as I remember, OggMux has an option to split the resulting file into several smaller files (700MB etc.)

You should try that and see if it helps

Splitting works. But that sucks. I don't want to burn the darn thing on a 4.7 GB DVD in 5 or more separate parts :-(

What is the problem anyway? Is it the Ogg Splitter? Must be it since I don't have any problems seeking in the 3 GB large AVI, right? If that is the case, can't the splitter be fixed to make it work? I know that there are probably more important issues with OGM than that but is it anywhere near being solved?

TIA

Edit: Does Matroska have the same problem btw?
