What program can I use to correct a 'bad block header' on a .vob file? I get this message whenever I try to open a .vob in Menuedit from a particular DVD movie on my hard-drive. What does 'bad block header' mean anyway?
thanx,

Valid VOB files have a particular structure. When MenuEdit reads vob file it does some checks to make sure that file it is reading is valid. 'bad block header' means that it found some inconsistencies.

Thanx, Dimad. But how would I be able to find where these inconsistencies in the .VOB structure are and would I be able to correct them with IfoEdit or any other program?

or how can we reconstruct that information? I have the same problem when I cut a large vob into 2 pieces. The first VOB I can create my VCDeasy cue/bin image file to burn but when I try the second one it craps out complaining about the header info is bad. or maybe there is a better program to cut VOB's in half then the one I used - VOBsplitter. Thanks

I'm not sure what VOBSplitter (or other programs) do to vob files. And I don't know what are the requirements of VCDeasy, but splitting vob file by cell boundary probably the best way of doing it (especially if pieces will be used separately latter on).
You may want to try "delete vob/cell" feature of MenuEdit. Just make a duplicate of you file and delete first "half" from one and second "half" from another. Let me know if it solved your problem.

sorry to confuse the issue but I meant to say I am trying to cut in half a VOB type mpg file. I've taken a VOB and demuxed it to m2v and ac3 with TMPEG then converted the audio to mp2, re-muxed in TMPEG to a mpeg and now I want to cut in half to burn on two CD's as a SVCD. I did the audio converion thing because my DVD player does not play mini-dvd but will play the file type I created above. TMPEG won't cut this type of file for some reason.
EDIT: I just tried ChopperXP and it seems to do the job for me.
Thanks
