hi,

is it safe to use the different idct versions?

i'd like to try the skal idct, but beside a posible speedup,
isn't it some how a risk to use it?
i mean is it well enough tested, like the 32 mmxsse version?
in the case it will bring no speedup, i consider a new encode,
due to a messed up video, more annoying.

regards

skal's idct won't screw anything up. It might change the compressibility of an Encode (either way) when compared to other iDCTs. But you won't see any errors.

I use SimpleiDCT all the time (idct=7) and that's my preferred choice recently. And I've had (and won't have) any problems with it.
