Has anyone experienced a burn failure stating Power Calibration error with Nero 6? Used nero 5.x and never got this message. I thought at first it was the DVD-R's that I was trying. I have a dual OS boot so I booted to the other system and used Recordnow Max and the discs burn just fine. I have the latest update for nero (6.0011).

I used to get the very same error message with my Pioneer DVR105 and Proformance disks (Nero 5). Downgrading to older firmware version solved the problem (I found out that Pioneer was indeed blocking some unlicensed DVD-R manufacturers). However, the behaviour you described is

If I were you I'd try some different media first  And then ask @ Ahead.

I was able to burn successfully with nero 6 using a the meritline dvd-r's. I am still unsure why one program would use the bmi media but the other one wouldn't. I contacted sony and they said from the fact the the recordnow max would burn to these discs that nothing was wrong with the burner. My next step I guess is to roll back to nero 5.x and see if it works. If it does then there is something in the nero 6 that is the culprit. I would I have roxio 6 on a different machine I guess I could try that as well just to be sure.

Does anyone think this might cause a power calibration error. I noticed in the error log that Nero 6 is using a wnaspi32.dll from the nero directory that shows to be created by Ahead. I also have wnaspi 4.71a2 from adaptec installed on my system. Could this cause a power calibration error? If so, which one needs to be removed. I would like to keep the adaptec one if possible because I have other apps that look for that file.
