Hello folks :

I am trying to backup my dvd title movie to standard dvd-r, for better result, I want to cut off useless part of the movie, such as the last part(cast listing, something like that) of last vob file.

The complete process listed below :
1. use DVD-Decrypter to rip whole dvd files.

2. use DVTool to cut off the useless part of the last vob file (say vts_01_5.vob).

3. use CloneDVD 1.1.7.1 to rebuild vob files to fit in a dvd-r.

CloneDVD works fine, until 97%, popup an error message :"Creation of DVD files was not successful, VobSet 5 2422647 2422857 ..... TCE", and program wo'nt go any further.

I guess the problem is the last vob file size was changed , maybe video_ts.ifo or vts_0?_0.ifo keeps vob files info., so is there any friend could tell me what could I do ???

Iīm not an expert and donīt know the exact way clodeDVD process the vob files. But if you need to be sure that your ifos correspond with your vobs try Ifoedit to edit/cut part you do not want anymore. And then, with new ifos you can give cloneDVD a second change.

Donīt beat me - just an idea :).

An easier way would be to rip only the chapters you need. Most DVDs have the credits authored as a final chapter.

If that is not the case, you may try to find out if the last chapter has different cells. The credits will likely be on the final cells.

DVD Decrypter allows you to select which chapters/cells you want to rip.

If that still is not the case, you may use DVD2AVI to find the last frame you need, and use the Trim AviSynth command to keep only what you need.

Hope this helps.

I use ChopperXP to edit the VOB files. It re-authors the VOB file and then from there I go through ifoedit to get VTS sectors and it works every time. I like using the new version because you get a visual representation of what you are editing. However you need to have MS Visual Basic 6 runtimes-They are available on the site.
Here is the link if you need it:ChopperXP (http://www.digital-miner.com/)
