I need some help, i havnt got a clue why this is happening.
Ive Ripped the italian job (pal) to my hard disk with dvd decrypter (removing region coding pupo`s etc) then transcoded using cloneDVD also to try and narrow the field down i used DVDshrink & nero recode but the same results from all 3 of them. The transcoded DVD plays perfect from my hard disk but when i try and burn it to disk just after the warning screen it stops this happens both on my ps2 and my pc. I dont understand this it cant be a navigational error because it plays fine from my hard disk.
I`ve tried nero (5 using iso/udf) also imgtool 1.00.6 & dvd decrypter even burning with cloneDVD.
Can someone offer me any advice please.

PowerDVD and similar software DVD players are more benevolent to DVD standard than standalones. It could be navigation error - what exactly did you do with your backup?

just transcoded it all 3 transcoders i mentioned correct the nav packs and VTS sectors automatically so it shouldnt be a navigational error all i can think of is it must be how im burning, nero iso/udf has been quite successfull for me, i hope its not a problem with my DVD writer im using ritek g03 discs.

I did backups of some movies (e.g. Windtalkers, or some music DVD) with very complicated navigation (a lot of GPRM commands). So point of my post is that you have to stay as close as possible to original source - same number of VTSs, PGCs, Cels, audio/video/subtitle streams etc. I had similar problem with my backup and solution came with exactly same navigation structure (except number of VOBIDs). My backup froze or repeated some section in neverending loop in my standalone althought it worked flawlesly in my PC. So if you deleted some streams did you use dummies instead of them??

I didnt remove any streams, just did a 1:1 backup.

Then you are probably right - burning issue (maybe)? Do you tried to make another copy on RW to be sure it is not this one media problem? ImgTool Clasic and DVD Decrypter is usualy safe way to get functional copy. Is it possible to rip all files from your media back into PC? There is a tool that checks if media is readable (I do not remember exact name - it was something like g-probe or something like that) - IŽll do some research to find out the name...
[Edited]OK - it is kprobe actualy. It works with LiteOn units only. It can be downloaded from cdfreaks forum - here is the link to link to the link.... :D
