Hi,

I have been making DivXs with ogg audio for a long time now using the guide here on Doom9 (OggMachine, OggMux, OggCut). I don't do 2CD rips very often but it seems a pain to have to go through this process using multiple programs. Especially when it's always a trial and error splitting a 1400Mb avi into two 700Mb files (is there any secret to this?)
Is it possible to mux and split ogms as part of the encoding process in Gknot? Is it likely that Gknot will get these functions in the future?

Hi,

AFAIK the is always a second step required ...

You can split OGM files either with VirtualDubMod or use the
OgmCutter (by the famous OGM-guy 'Cyrius' :D )

..or you use the file splitting of OggMux (which works already better in current versions, but should be "a hit" in the next release.

I never make 2 cd rips, unless I'm going SVCD. Only time it's worth it... Anyways, to get a split at the right point, I rip the movie into two, before encoding. This way I split at a chapter point and not in the middle of a scene. Encoding time should be relatively the same as if you did the whole movie. Just a little extra prep work. (Cut and paste is your friend in avs. ;) )
