Just a quick one
When I strip out stuff from let's say VTS_01_0.IFO with the VOB Extras button, it always seems to copy over video_ts.ifo and video_ts.bup.
Are these really copies or are these files altered as well?

Thx,
Séamus

Yep they are different - the references to missing audio channels and what ever else you stripped get modified.

@maa
I think @seamus was asking about the VIDEO_TS.IFO and VIDEO_TS.BUF, which I believe were just copied over unchanged. If those are not wanted, remember to uncheck the box at the bottom, something like: 'Automatically copy Menu files'

A VTS_01_0.IFO may be all you are after but if you whish to play the thing as a DVD you need these two modified files - chapters, vob IDs etc. are noted there ....

You see, I unchecked that option, but those 2 files were copied, video_ts.ifo and video_ts.bup, not video_ts.vob

@seamus
You could be right and @maa too, but I remember occasions when the VIDEO_TS.* did not get copied over. Or may be, it was because when the stripped VTS was the main title those got copied over. I am not sure now :confused:, I need to watch closely the next time I do it. Sorry, if I confused you two :). As to whether the files were copied or recreated, you can check the file size and date code.
