nero 6.0 installation problem

Well I don't know if it is the right forum but I am assuming so
I have installed nero 6.0 and now I am trying to update it by means of the 4 packages you can find on the ahead's website
I tried with the first package and after extracting the files, nero is popping up an error message to tell me that the installation/update can not be performed because my computer has older system files and that I should update my OS
So I connected to MS to find out that there was a SP 4 for win2k
So I installed it, performed another windows update and tried to install once again the update packages.
no success. Stil the same error message

Is there anybody who knows how to fix this problem ?
am I missing another update in win 2k ?

I would try uninstalling your existing copy of nero then reinstall whatever version of 6 yuou have, then try the updates. Although you might have a corrupt windows installer...

tried that already but it does not work

I am having a problem nero on one of my pc's as well. It will install fine but whenever I input any file to make vcd, svcd, minidvd or audio disc, it freezes. I gave up and went back to 5.5 on this pc.
