View Full Version : Renaming Audio Streams

Hi,

I created a OGM using XviD for video and 2x AC3 for audio using OggMux and NanDub. It worked perfectly fine except that when I loaded the muxed AVI into OggMux it didn't recognize the audio streams with the result that they're now named 'Ton 1' and 'Ton 2' (which is probably due to my Windows being in german). However, I'd like to change it to 'English' and 'German', respectively. Now how do I do that?

I've tried VirtualDubMod, but it keeps crashing upon saving the new OGM ('An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'VirtualDubMod').

Alternatively, I tried to mux everything with GraphEdit, but I can't get the AC3 to work. The sound is piped through AC3 Filter which seems to somehow encode the whole thing which results in an extremely large output file. How can simply pass the AC3 stream through (or maybe even bypass the entire AC3 filter) without any changes? I fiddlet a bit with several AC3 Filter settings but it didn't work (or GraphEdit crashed without any error message).

TIA!

Have you tried Muxing with my branch version of OggMux (listed on the first post of the OGM Development thread?) That will allow you to mux ac3 without making a an ac3-wav file.

If after that it still doesn't work, is there anyway you could cut a piece of the OGM (you can get a ogg cutter at http://cyrius.bunkus.org/) and upload it, so I could have a look ?

Cheers,

Thanks a lot, it works perfectly fine now. BTW, is the splitting now key-frame accurate or not (what's the difference anyway)? I'm just asking because the little note saying so is not there any more. Doesn't really matter to me anyway since I'm burning my OGMs to DVD :-D

OggMux rox, keep up the excellent work!

Sorry to bother you again, but I just noticed something:

When I mux my streams (XviD + 2x AC3) with your version of OggMux, the chapters seem to be broken. When I select an arbitrary chapter, the video just stops.
If muxed with NanDub (for Audio) + OggMux (for Chapters; doesn't matter which version) the chapters seem to work. Most of the time at least.

Update: I just tested the whole chapter thing on my DVD rip of Futurama and noticed that on some episodes all chapters worked, while on some others let's say only three out of four worked. When switching between the three working ones everything was fine, but switching to the fourth always stopped the video.

Did anyone ever notice that kind of behaviour before? I searched the forums but couldn't find anything.

Edit: I decided to start a new thread about this since it doesn't really have anything to do with audio streams. Please close this thread.
