Hello hello...
I am trying to make a backup of Dare Devil and I never had so much difficulties to skip the warning text than with the previous movies.

What is new to me here is that these warnings have their own titleset which is the 2nd containing 3 chapters and has 2 PGCs, 3 warnings from start and rest of the warnings after the movie.

The 20th century logo is on the 3rd. Since the meny begins almost like the main logo of the 20th century then I wonīt need that 3rd titleset either.. only the 4th which contains a few extra.

Easiest would be to delete them but I canīt figure out how... and that would actually be the easiest way I want to believe.
Cus just setting the First Play PGC to the Root is a menace.. either it plays the warnings anyways or it wonīt play at all complaining about the bad navigation... and I have tried the most

need a helping hand please

[edit] opps, perhaps I just say it is with IFOedit and should post it under the correct content

I've never been able to figure out a way to get past Fox's warnings.

For DareDevil, they are actually contained in the menu. Unfortunately, Nero ReCode doesn't let you get rid of or replace menu items.

I too have tried everything in my limited knowledge of IFOedit to bypass them, or at least make them skippable. Removing P-UPs has no effect and removing them using VOB Extras results in a DVD that my players won't play.

The only good news is that you can use the next chaper button on your remote to skip them. But you have to press it for each screen. You can't just press the Menu button.

Oh well. I'd love to see answer to this too.

Please keep in mind that my cheat sheet is for REGION 1 - NTSC. If the PAL version is different then I'll try to help out as much as I can.

ok, that cheatsheet didnīt do me any good with the different numbers on menues and so on cus the structure is completetly different on the Pal. But it sure did give me a push in the right direction... when you mentioned the VMGM_PGCI_UT, I just payed attention where and what was where and I managed now to bypass the Warnings at start and The Logo...

So I thank you for that one 2cool

and thanks to voo_doo99 for noticing this thread and giving me the link

I had this in a PAL music DVD. I just used ifoedit strip VOB_ID (second menu) functionality to strip the VOB_ID that contains the warning.

It will create new VOB files and IFO files for the part you strip. Copy those back over the original one. And use IFOEDIT to get the VTS sectors.

Worked for me (on that DVD at least).

I did my DD Region 2 (British sellthrough edition)using Menuedit (registered), ifoedit only for stripping, according to Menuedit guide and IC7.
In the end, it was similar to 2COOL's guide, without the changing of precommands (I can't get my Philips player to accept these :( )
Enhanced vision works OK, mandatory watching of Fox rental warning, Fox logo, trailers, gone!

What exactly do you mean by not getting enhanced view to work? In my movie, the first icon pops up in the beginning showing the rat going over the puddle of water. It should be the same moment as yours. Even if you had stripped out the subtitles (closed captions) for the icon display, you should still be able to press enter and go in your enhance view. The icons were just there to give you guidance on when to press enter.

Now do you get the icons and pressing enter doesn't work?
or you don't get the icons and pressing enter works?
or you just don't no icons and no enter response?

I have never seen an icon,,, not even on the original, but I viewed from D-Tools tho and not on a standalone.

but what happens is that I get a new frame on the screen telling what the effect is and what angles there are and I just press play, then I get to see the Enhanced view, it just pops up automatically.

and when I just remove one audio track,, like the chechish,,,, it doesnīt pop up at all, as if the whole content get adjusted and canīt find the extra material... I dunno

but what happens is that I get a new frame on the screen telling what the effect is and what angles there are ... Hmmmm...Reading my Enhanced Viewing Mode description in my Special Features, it does state that an angel head icon will appear at my lower right of screen to give me a heads up to press play or enter to access. You're saying that you have a "frame" that pops up instead? Your PAL version is very different from my NTSC R1 version.
... and I just press play, then I get to see the Enhanced view, it just pops up automatically. That's the same effect with the my icons but there would be no break in movie play if I didn't press play or enter. The icon will just blink for a couple of seconds and disappear.
and when I just remove one audio track,, like the chechish,,,, it doesnīt pop up at all, as if the whole content get adjusted and canīt find the extra material... I dunno I stripped out 3 of 6 audios and 3 out of 7 subtitles and didn't get any problems. Of course, I stripped them through DVD Shrink.
