hi,

do not choose any "root folder" like c:\ for the target or temp folder. if there is any other file in such a target or temp folder, nero will ask to delete. if you say yes you're lost.
it is not like only files in the video_ts folder (created by nero) will be deleted, but all !

regards,

mike

DVD95Copy has always had that feature and I haven't heard of anyone yet that has deleted files that shouldn't be deleted. It's not a bug since there is a deletion confirmation. If by any chance someone does then shame on them for their ignorance and negligence.

NOT AT ALL, this is a clear bug. The program must ONLY delete the files it created, there's no excuse or justification for not doing so.

Let's define a software "bug".

A software bug may be defined as a coding error that causes an UNEXPECTED defect, fault, flaw, or imperfection in a computer program. So if Nero Encode does not perform the way the developers intended, it is most likely a bug. Again, they knew and wanted it this way so they put in a delete confirmation. If they didn't put in the confirmation and your files in C:\ gets deleted without authorization, then I would say it's definitely a "BUG". That's what I would call unexpected and I would be pissed off!

Let's not bury this in semantics.

What if Nero Recode is also on C drive? It will delete itself? (of course, not the files in use).

They(Ahead) make the completely wrong assumption they can delete the entire TEMP folder. What about people who use the same temp folder for several programs?

My theory is that it was still in beta and they had a release deadline to meet. e.g. Microsoft. Who knows? They may be working on this issue in next version.

The Guys at PC welt reported this bug to Ahead (last wednesday).

According to PC welt the Ahead team is now working on a patch. They could not say when the patch will be released.
