How to join a previously split DVD-9 by ifoedit to 2 DVD-5s, back into one VIDEO_TS?

I want to join a previously split DVD-9 by ifoedit to 2 DVD-5s, back into one VIDEO_TS folder on my harddisk.

I have used the search function and have not found a solution to my problem. I saw the thread how to join a flipper movie into one by vobedit but I don’t think that I need that since the vob-ids of the second disc are perfectly the follow-ups to the vob-ids of the first disc. I just rename the main movie of the second disk sequentially after the main movie of the first disk. My problem is that the menu doesn’t work and the player just plays the first half of the movie. I cannot access the second half of the movie. I have used create new ifo for the ifo of the main movie with no success. Thanks for any help.

Though I don't have an answer to your situation, there was this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53434&highlight=join+split+movie+menu+ifoedit) that is exactly what these users wanted to do too. But alas, there was never a resolution out of that either.

You can always try to create a custom menu easier with other authoring programs than try to figure out how to get the original menu fixed. IMHO, it's too time consuming and stressful for me to figure it out.
