I'm going crazy here, I can't make DVD's that play on my set-top player any longer. I can't seem to pin point why.

For the most recent I used DVDShrink 2.3 and Nero 5.5.10.42. I have the firmware on the drive setting the booktype to DVD-ROM and have DVD-ROM set in Nero as well. The DVD's play fine on the PC but wont load on the DVD Player.

I've had 2 problems with nero in the past, there was a version that burned bad DVD's and then when they added the book-type option, I didn't know about it and it overwrode my drive to burn them as DVD+R's.

Any Ideas? I there any well known bugs that have surfaced with nero lately that I haven't seen?

Is there an app to 'see' the book type on a burned disc to make sure it's set as it's supposed to?

Did you try with Imgtool ? It handle all the file format stuff and only use the nero burning engine. I have always good result with this couple, but i stay on version 5.5.10.28 as this works perfectly.

Also try unistalling all burning appz, and only install a fresh clean nero. It should'nt hurt.

Dont use Nero! I had many problems in the past.

Use eitehr teh old IMGTools or Maestro to make an ISO image and burn it with Decrypter. *Never* failed me!
