Hi all.
DVD Shrink development continues!!!
I have been informed by dvdshrink that the next release (v2.4) will be in available in a couple of weeks.
No details concerning the new features (if any) or fixed bugs are yet available.

Really sweet! :D, thanks @daddy_fizz for bringing the good news. I practically shelved my other tools D2O, IC7 and only used DVDShrink 2.3 for backup lately. Feel so comfy with the interface, and love the built-in preview. Just learn about the cutting feature recently, so cool!. Together with IFOedit for selective stripping, I got a good quality backup every time. And the end result DVD structure is solid.
Thank you, DVDShrink! Cant wait to see what you have in store for 2.4 :p

Sweet!
Can't wait to see what new features and/or fixes will be added.
Truly a very very easy program to use.

One feature mentioned to me was using drag and drop betwen 2 instances of DVD Shrink to build compilations.
dogman-x tried this already in this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=341458#post341458)

I spend countless hours making "Best of" compliations from TV series DVDs. Opening multiple windows and dragging and dropping would be a magnificent feature!!

Although I do not use it a lot for backups, because other tools give better quality (for me), I strongly believe that DVDShrink is *by far* NO.1 for its interface, ease of use and re-authoring mode.
If 2.4 has more flexible compression handling, that would be the ultimate 1-clicker!

I love dvdshrink and everything it does. I'm looking forward to a new version. I really don't have too much to complain though about the older version, I use it on all my dvd9 -> 5 conversions.

I find that the output size estimates in v2.3 are usually way off. Hopefully 2.4 will have more acurate estimates...
hmmmmmmmm

Way off? Really?! I've never had it be off by more than 10MB or so on any of the movies I've ever done. Now Pinnacle IC, there is a product that you can guess better than it using an abacus and a piece of chalk.
Anyone else have DVDShrink way off in it's estimates?

Nope...DVDShrink has been very very accurate. m000558 must have gotten his programs mixed up, as IC7 is well known for its output size inaccuracies.

I will take a guess m000558 means Shrink could use a fit to disk feature. It will come up short when using the encode full disk method.
If Shrink v2.3 shows an final size of say... 4.22gb, it usually hits the mark......it does for me anyway.

i think 2.4 will prolly impliment sliders instead of those levels to choose from.
just a guess mind :D
