I know this has been asked a few times on this forum, but I just did a search and could not find an answer.

I want to cut out a specific scene(s) from a DVD. I want to be able to load a VOB into an editor and be able to move a slider and mark my in and out points and have it generate a VOB output with no reencoding. It must also support AC3 audio.

The nearest I have found to a tool like this is Chopper XP, however it works on some VOBs and rejects others when you try to open them. The author says that he has no problems, but I have tried this on several OS configurations.

Now that there are tools like TMPGEnc-DVDAuthor, NeroVision, DVD-Lab, and Ulead DVD MovieFactory I wonder if any of these support loading in VOBs and editing them without any reencoding.

Anyone?

Use DVDShrink in re-author mode - it needs to read an IFO though.
If you don't have an IFO drag the VOB and drop it on the IFOEDIT icon on your desktop - that creates the IFOs
A description of cutting with Shrink is HERE (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=57961#post348712)

Thank you very much!!!

This is the best solution - period. I have tried all the ways and I can't believe how easy it is with DVD Shrink. The guy who wrote this program deserves some kudos - the interface is easy, its quick and responsive, and cuts are made with perfect accuracy.

DVD Shrink is the new VOB cutter for me.

Now, I can make that Dolby Digital highlights DVD to show off my speaker setup.
