Check the Download Section for recent version of BeSweet and its dts-plugin.
Maybe you can reencode your DTS-Track with lower bitrate with that tool (didn't try it myself 'til now, only with ac3 so far).
I'm just wondering why you wanna downsample it. Using higher bitrates than ac3 is the main-advante of DTS and when reducing it, you get rid of that advantage (depending on how much you wanna downsample of course).

afaik it is not possible to encode to dts using freeware tools. anyway, as 69mws already said downsampling DTS, even to a slightly higher bitrate than ac3 will get rid of any advantage you will have with dts above ac3 and therefore render your effort useless.
imho it would be smarter to use the ac3 file instead. if there only is a stereo ace (which i highly doubt) you consider reencoding your dts to an 448 kbps ac3!

got the same problem now. I got a dvd of Queen (Live At Wembley Stadium) with a DTS (@1536) track of 1200MB and a PCM (@1536) track of a simular size. When keeping this bitrate I get a bitrate of 1500 for video. And that's just awfull.
I want to downsize the DTS track from 1500 to 768 and I want to convert the PCM track to a 2 channel DD à 384. This way a get a lot more space for video. Is this possible now (free or shareware)? This topic was started a few months ago, perhaps it's possible now?

Didn't hear anything new on DTS downsampling, but I have to admit that I wasn't seeking for such a solution ;)
Why do you wanna keep both tracks anyway? IMHO you should just keep the track that sounds better for you.

true but I'm backing it up for a friend also and he doesn't have a dts decoder so he can only use the pcm track. That's why I want to keep both tracks.
I think I've found a way to covert the pcm track to DD but I'm still working on it...

im confused...if your friend doesn't have a DTS decoder..then why even include that track...and from a professional standpoint..you DON'T want to downsample DTS tracks...you can always transcode at half D-1 resolution to give the picture a more blurry feel rather than the annoying macroblocks

DTS for myself ;)
Why don't I want to downsample the DTS track to 768?? 768 is imho still a respectable bitrate

I've done what MicroMij was talking about.
The only reasonable video quality I got is when I had the DTS (demuxed with Vobedit) converted to 448 ac3 (with aziddts) thus freeing about 800MB to Video stream.
Outcome was quite satisfactory.
Another option (I didn't do) is to skip all surround info (not that thrilling anyway in this Queen concert) and just downmix the PCM file into 224kbps mp2 file, leaving maximum space for Video (no compression).
Good luck with either choice.

azidts/BeSweet uses ac3enc.dll as the ac3 encoder, and this encoder is bad! so, my suggestion would be either transcoding to 224kbps mp2 or to 768kbps dts.

Hi,
what about hypercube transcoder ?
is it the right choice to transcode a dts soundtrack and remux 5.1 wavs files with surcode dvd pro dts ?
cya guys
