Is Sony DRU-510A good at playing DVD movies? Or should shell out more money and get a DVD-ROM?

it plays DVD movies okay...
but you'd be better getting a DVD-ROM so you don't wear it out and so u can test DVD burns you've done in a seperate drive.

Any dvd burner is capable of playing movies. but i would recommended using a seperate dvd rom drive.
