I'm somewhat new at this, but I've had problems filling my Princo DVD-R's using my Sony DRU-510A drive. I've used Nero and RecordNow but both fail on finalizing the disc if I leave less that 10 or 20 megs free. Does this mean DVD-R's can't be burned to the limit or even over-burned? The only way around this now is that I leave about 50 megs free on the disc.

Also, I'm finding that Nero and Record now refuses to overburn CDR's on my DRU-510. Can the DRU-510 not overburn even if the overburn is configured in Nero and RecordNow?

Any help is appreciated!!!

Hi,
AFAIK DVD-Rs cannot be Over-Burned. But what puzzles me is that you get an Error during Finalizing. Usually Nero checks if the Compilation is within DVD-R size limits and doesn't allow you to burn if it is to big.

Have you tried a different brand of media? Might be degradation of the PRINCOS towards the outer edge.

Can't comment on the Sony since I am using Pioneer.

Hope this helps
