I have 2.0e firmware, and while Nero sees disc as 4x it takes 30 mins. Is this resolved with latest firmware?

Can you burn other discs at 4x?

If you dont have DMA enabled on the drive, the best you'll get out of it is 2x, so it might be your machine that is limiting the burn speed and not the drive / firmware.

DMA is cranked up. I dont have an abundance of 4x media. So... does the latest firmware allow for burning these discs at 4x?

Well mine appears to work ok, burning at 4x in the expected 4x time frame.
