I am using D2S 1.1.3b2 to conver DVD moive to XVCD and found that the subtitle is still too high on the TV screen even when I set the Y-position at the lowest value of -1. Is there anyway I can lower the subtitle further so I can minize its overlap with the picture part on the screen?

Once again (sorry but I have explained this many times)

-1 = The default value, that is dvd2svcd tries to position the subtitle where it was on the DVD

Everything between 1 and 576 will position the topline of the subtitle on the line you want. So try with for instance 480 (if PAL) and 400 (if NTSC)

I tried 0, 1, and 2 before I posted the question. The subtitle seemed moving upword on the screen with higher number when I tried the Y-position between 0 and 2. I'll try it again with some high numvers like 400 as you suggested. Thanks much for your knidly help even though this question have been asked before.

Thank you very much, D2S Moderator! Your suggestion of setting the standard y-position at 400 works great for me.

Hi, instead of positioning the topline at the line you want, could it be bottomline? I'm only asking because it seems that dvd's display subtitles this way.

If I did that I would cause a lot of grief to the existing users and I would definately be flooded with angy mails. Besides imho it's illogical that it should be the bottom line.

Why ilogical? Maybe it's a matter of taste. Vobsub for instance displays that way.
