I have tried to backup 3 DVDs with IC7.11 (after ripping all files with DVD Decrypter)and all 3 movies ended up with the same problem. Everything works fine except going to different chapters through "Scene selection". Two out of the 3 movies, the chapter navigation works fine until I tried to select the last set of chapters (eg selecting "12-15" when they are the last selction under "Scene selection"). The DVD would not go to the selected chapter and the "cursor" simply disappeared. The only way to recover from this is by pressing the "Title" button in the remote to go back to the Title Mneu. In the third movie (Matrix), the scene selection only works for the beginning ("1-5" I think) and if I select the other chapters, the DVD would not respond (just like what I described above). BTW, the movies all played fine from beginning to end. The problem only appeared if I go to "Scene selection".
I tried to play the DVD on my PC using PowerDVD and exactly the same thing happened. So it has got nothing to do with my standalone DVD player.
On all 3 movies I used IC to strip off some subtitles and audio (2 channels stereo)and extras that I don't want.
Is this an IC bug? I am sorry if this had been covered before. I did do a search before I posted and could find nothing similar.
I did have a look at all the guides about ifoedit, but I found it difficult to follow. I thought if I use ifoedit to do the stripping and only let IC do the compression (encoding), the problem might disappear. I wish there is a simple and easy to follow guide out there (for newbies like myself) that I could follow.
I have also tried DVD Shrink and I was very impressed with the ease of use of this program to strip off the parts that I don't want. Unfortunately from reading all the posts, it seems to me that the video quality of the stripped DVD from DVD Shrink is simply not as good as IC.
