I edit my home made footage with pinnacle studio 8 and now want to encode it to mpeg2 format for dvd but not with internal mpeg2 codec, but with external like cce. So which is the best way, lossless way to save in avi. Maybe with

huffyuv codec or
uncompressed RGB 24 or
uncompressed UYVY or
uncompressed YuY2 or anything else and then encode this avi with cce?

Is there any frame server for pinnacle studio like for Premiere and Media Studio?

Thanks!

If you don't want to lose quality by saving to DV, you might want to choose Huffyuv YUV2 for smallest size. I don't know if there's a frameserver available for Pinnacle Studio, but I think there was something about the ffvfw codec with AviSynth support (if I remember correctly). Don't know if that meets your needs, though. I never tried it - yet.

See e.g. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=55207
or search for "ffvfw" and "avisynth".

Edit: Just found out that with ffvfw (light) you can open AVS files in applications that don't natively support it. But you need the other direction...
