View Full Version : How do I get to "menu" items when using Re-Author mode in DVD Shrink?

I like to keep the THX logos at the beginning of my movies using DVD Shrink and Re-Author mode...
I just recently noticed on a recent backup (Shanghai Knights, I believe) that the THX logo was actually classified under the "menu" section of FULL DISC mode, and thus it was not available at all under RE-AUTHOR mode. Unfortunately, I was unable to include my beloved THX logo... I almost never copy FULL DISC because I HATE how long it takes to get the damn movie going...(10 sec THX is okay ;) Any suggestions?

It should appear in shrinks window (bottom right)as a Title.
Drag it to the first position in the film window.
Drag your film to the second position.
If its not showing let me know - I have another way...

No, it does NOT show up as a title. Otherwise, this certainly would be easy (I don't think I'd need to post!). But, because I classifies it as a "Menu" item, it thinks it's an animation or something. Anyway, it is NOT available to drag and drop at all in ANY of the titles below.
Thanks,

Ok then - you've got some editing to do:)
Play each VOB with PowerDVD 'till you find the right one.
Move or copy it to an empty directory.
ReName it to vts_01_1.vob and then drop it onto the IFOEDIT icon on your desktop.
IFOEDIT asks for a destination - point it to the same location.
IFOEDIT then makes a working DVD out of this one VOB by writing a VTS_01_0.ifo and a Video_ts.ifo
Delete the Video_ts.ifo
Now rename the VOB and IFO to a higher number than your shrink film.
(vts_02_1.ifo)
Move them to the shrink directory.
In the shrink directory:
Open Video_ts.ifo (with ifoedit) and go down to VGM_VTS_ATRT
First line - change "Number of Video Title Sets" to "2"
Save
Back to the top (first page) you now see a new Title set which needs its attributes changing according to the vob. If you can't remember how many audio streams and the aspect ratio open the vob with PDVD again and click on right mouse / "show information"
Now back to VGM_VTS_ATRT / Title 2 and correct the number of audio and subpicture streams. Check on first page that the audio is right.
Next, go down to VTS_MAT / "first play PGC" and page down a bit to the command line (There is no PGC Command Table) and right click on those words and choose add pre-command.
Right click the new command and choose "(Jump_TT) Jump to Title" and below enter the number of your new vob (most likely "2")
Save
Now you can press "Get VTS Sectors" which will open the other IFOs in your directory.
Ok - now we need a command in the new VTS_02_0.ifo to start the film after the intro.
Open VTS_PGCITI by clicking the + sign.
There may be more than one PGC in there - open the last one and page down to the commands - delete them from the right mouse menue - we need a Post command this time "(Jump_TT) Jump to Title" "1" should do the trick.
Save
Get VTS_Sectors
Done!
Few !
