Hello,

I have a Canon MV550i camcorder, yesterday I recorded a gig in LP mode but during the last minutes I changed to ELP mode cause I would run out of tape soon!
I recorded 90 minutes in LP and 7-8 minutes in ELP mode.
The problem is that the ELP mode shot video can't be captured!
It plays fine in the camcorder though!
I saw around the web that many people have the same problem but none gave a solution to it!

Any ideas?

If You have an analogue capturecard or a Video-In at your Graphics Card, you can capture your Video this way.

This will not give optimal quality but is better than leaving the Video in the camcorder...

Thanks for replying,

I already did something like that. I recorded the ELP part in my VCR and then re-recorded it in LP mode in my DV cam so I could capture it.
The quality loss was visible and thank god it's only 6-7 minutes but come on... Is Canon aware of this trouble? I'm sure...
It's just very strange!

Thanks again,

i was playing with the same camera yesterday.

it say in the manual you can't capture LP, let alone ELP.

it sucks... i think canon are well aware of it and just don't care. makes you wonder why they'd include a mode that couldn't be played through DV out...
