Full disk backup of 2nd disk wont start. It starts searching for first 26 chapters and hangs. will play once you get menu to display and you go to chapter listing. Then start chapter 27.
Any solution for this

Any solution for this
Yup.
1. Rip with SmartRipper or DVDDecrypter in files mode. Rip ALL files.
2. Use IfoEdit 0.95 (movie only) to strip streams and VOB ID's. Keep VOB ID's #4 and 5 ONLY!
3. Use DVD2One to compress to fit onto a single disc.
Works great! :)
Note: Disc 2 will start right where the movie left off, the way that it should.

Thanks for the quick response.
Used DVD decrypter in place of smartripper. did whole disk with dvd2one. movie now starts after a one mi. blank screen.Thats better.
I wanted the whole disk backup to lend to a history fanatic friend of mine.
For me I don`t think the movie is worth having. It`s a real disapointment compared to Gettysburg.
Carthoris.
I just never saw a side b go through the side a chapters before it started. This may also happen on side b of the movie Giant. That one also have a one mi pause before it starts.

Yeah, side B was a challenge. I tried to do Movie Only w/IC and it kept wanting to do Titles 1 and 4, 4 being a 46 minute something or other and 1 being the movie. If I deselcted 4, IC would automaticlly deselect 1. If I deselected everything and then selected 1, IC would add 4.
Since IC was getting me nowwhere fast, I did side B with DVD2ONE and selected Title 1 which worked fine, go figure. My DVD player also does a quick (10 sec) scan up from Chapters 1-26, before starting chapter 27.
You review of the movie was right on; it paled in comparison to Gettysburg. The other funky thing is that where Gettysburg was a direct copy of the book, this one was far off the mark with the book. The book had substantially more character and historical development, while this one was just shoot, shoot, shoot...

I had the same problem, so I configured the disc to start with the root menu, then select chapter 27 from the scene selection menu. The disc also starts with the subtitles enabled for some reason.

Just one more reason to stay away from IC7! :D
BTW, guys, I actually used DVDShrink in plave of DVD2One, but either program should give excellent results, as the compression required is minimal (about 5%). By using my method to strip out the unwanted blank chapters, the resulting movie plays back perfectly and took less than a half hour.
