DVD Shrink

not sure if this is the best place to post this.

I'm looking for information on "DVD Shrink 2.2 and 2.3...(Truly a WONDERFUL program) I've discovered I'm a lazy sort... I like the idea that with a few mouse click I can get a full DVD-9 on a DVD-5 no sweat...

What I have found is, if the main movie is of epic size ( Terminator, T-2, Gladiator and Gangs Of New York) DVD Shrink chokes BIG TIME...

If you have to use Levels 7, 8 and 9 compression your disc is useless... I've tried this with a bunch of my machines and always getting the same result... It appears the algorithm falls apart. Just when you set down with a bag of popcorn, and it never fails right at the good parts PIXELATION!!! stutter and QUIT!
What I'd like to do is compress the main movie only, convert it back into a VOB insert it back into DVD Shrink (or some other software) then burn... My few experiments have failed...

I'm looking for a guide that will get me through it... I don't know that I have the skill set...or the tools...

Is it possible to do what I'm trying to do with DVDDecrypter, ReMPEG2 and DVD Shrink ?

Any info would be helpful...

Sounds more like your setup and or the media you use.
Many people find the program very useful, and don't seem to have the issues your having.
I would try using different media.
What brand of burner are you using? There are a few with burning issues and the problems you described.
Read around, you will find many posts on this.
