I have an origional DVD which i think is suffering from DVD rott. It has some minor scratches on it and a few like (lazer) scratches(These are scratches that follow the DVD around. I see them a lot on rented ones.)

Any way it scipped twice on my DVD player so i thought i would copy it to HD and rip it. Rips all the VObs apart from 1.

Its always gets stuch on the same chaper in that VOB.

What i want to know is there a program that when ripping if it can't read a section it moves on thus getting the vobs but slightly missing some Bits of the movie.(These bit should be quite small depending on how bad it is.)

This would be a good idea.

Dvd Decrypter eventuly ask if i want to ignore the errors and gets stuck and never moves on where as smart ripper will crash out completly.

Any way. Is there such a program and if not then i think one of you smart programmers out there should add the feature in. As being able to skip a non readable section would be fab.)

Cheers

DVD Decrypter has helped me in those cases, ripping by chapters or cells. You have to set Fast Error skip and HW retries=0.

It also may require multiple tries, isolating the problematic cells.

Also make sure it's not your DVD unit which is having problems. I have blamed my DVDs for that before, and it turned out to be a misalignment on the reading device.

Hope this helps.
