I have some XVID files that I am trying to convert to DVD format. I am stuck with the audio processing. I used TMPGENC to extract the video stream to MPG2 format and I used AVI2WAV to extract the audio and keep it in its origunal for of DD5.1 AC3. I then used Vegas 4 to merge the 2 video streams to one. No problem to this point.
Then when I extracted the audio using AVI2WAV it saved it in WAV format but, GSPOT identified the file as a Dolby_AC3 file. Thinking this was a true AC3 file I imported it into Maestro only to find out it was not supported because it was not truly a AC3 file. So I have tried to convert the WAV file to an AC3 file using various tools and I have had no luck.
My goal is to have both streams (audio & video) seperate so that I can merge both in Vegas 4. As I stated above, the video stream posed no problem. I am just having a time with the audio. Any suggestions or guidance to the right place would be apreciated.
Thanks in advance.
