Hi
I use 1-pass quality, quant =20 or thereabouts to encode static end-credits (static text on black background). I have done this with DivX Pro v5.0.2 some 100 times without problem. However when I do this with DivX Pro 5.0.5, there is a "residue" (patchy outline of the text that was there) left after each screen of credits fades.
Even if I disable bi-directional encoding, GMC and QPel the problem remains (I usually have all 3 enabled as this cuts the resultant filesize considerably). I have found that using quant=8 avoids the problem but this increases the filesize considerably.
The problem doesn't occur with scrolling text on a black background.
Anyone found a fix for this?
