View Full Version : VOB ID Skipped when played in DVD Player

I was backing up my copy of Star Trek Nemesis and I ran into a problem. I ripped out all extras, the end credits, and ~20 seconds of the intro to the movie to fit it on DVD-5 without transcoding. The problem I ran into was with the VTS_06_2.VOB and VTS_06_3.VOB, both VOBs have ID=9 in them. VTS_06_2.VOB has 1min of ID=9 and VTS_06_3.VOB has the rest of the ID=9. When played in a DVD player, it plays the first minute of the ID=9 then skips 4 chapters and keeps playing. Does anyone have any idea how I could fix this?
Thanks
Mike

Welcome to the forum:

I've read in several posts that this disc is hard to back up. You may want to execute searches on this title and see if you can get some help that way until someone with specific knowledge drops in to lend a hand. While it's tempting to reach out for all the available help you can find, posting in more than one forum on the same topic is called "cross posting", and isn't allowed. Please re-read the Forum Rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm/), there may also be other topics that you missed the first time, or don't fully understand yet. Good luck.

Have u performed a Get VTS Sectors after stripping stuff out?

It is normal for a vobid to continue in another vob when the 1st runs out of space.

Yes I did do Get VTS Sectors, I played the movie through IfoEdit and a lot of scenes were in screwy places, more so then before. I may have screwed up on your guide 2Cool (Disabling/Bypassing Unwanted Titles (Version 2)) So I'm going to re-rip the dvd and see if I can try this again. (I've only ripped, transcoded, and burned 3 DVDs so far so I'm still a pretty big newbie). Thanks for the help guys.

Mike

This is your last post to the exact same topic that u posted over at Ifo/Vob Editors forum two hours after posting in this one.

If u felt that u wouldn't had the help u wanted here u could have asked to move the thread over to Ifo/Vob Editors and not crossposting as u did. Having such crosspostings only clutters the space up and upsets the rest of the members.

U have violated forum rule 8 (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm). Consider this as a warning in a very good faith.

The two replies u got from here r merely the same as the ones u had from the other thread.

Discussion on the subject should be continued on the other thread.
