ATA100-200GB Drive Drops from UDMA-5 to PIO while Scnearist encodes.
Has anyone had this problem. Once Windows XP sees timeouts or errors it drops the speed of IDE Channel which has the hardisk has to a lower speed.
Thanks,
Shree

My apologies, this should have been in the hardware forum. Anyways I returned the following computer for a SCSI Workstaion.
My old SCSI Workstation DELL 330 never had problems. And the problems with HD are when we go excessive writes towards the end of Scenarist. I guess the most extensive parts of the system used during Scenarist encoding is the hardisk. The Dell Dimension did the encoding in CCE in a good speed 1.01 comparred to my old SCSI workstation 330 at 0.66.
