Hi,

When I convert my MP3's wiht Surcodes Pro DTS I get a 6 channel DTS sound. After burning the CD and playing it back on my hardware I complain about one thing: it ain't spatial. That means that every speaker produces the same sound. I would like to have different sounds from the speakers while the total sum is a harmonic DTS-stream.
Is this possible at the moment for MP3's.

Don't waste your time. Unless you remix the sound in software yourself, you won't get a true 5.1 mix from a 2 channel source by simply converting it to DTS or DD. Furthermore MP3->DTS would be a waste of time because MP3 has limited fidelity, and converting it to DTS would be a waste of bandwidth as it will not improve the sound quality. If you want to convert it to 5.1 it may as well be encoded into DD as the 384 or 448 bitrates would completely reproduce the limited MP3 stream.

Not to flame, but it seems there are a lot of people on this forum that are obsessed with the concept of a 'true' surround-sound stream. If it uses all your speakers and sounds good to you, what's wrong with that ? Anyways, getting back to your question, if you want to try Dolby Digital AC3 instead of DTS you could try my automated freeware method. hypercube transcoder can use windvds filters to mix the stereo mp3 up to 6 mono waves via prologic 2, you could encode these to dts

Hello ,

I've read many threads here.
I used Ac3Machine to make AC3 files from Mp3 , then I used Besure to make the DTS-CD.

When I put it on my "Marantz 6200" reciver , and select DTS , I here only on left and right speaker although it supposed to play it in all speakers...

Can anyone please help?
If it is 2 channel mp3 , I've read people who say it can be played as 5.1 channel , how to do it step by step?

You can find an acceptable answer in this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29277) thread.

otherwise
In my opinon converting a stereo MP3 direct to DTS makes absolutely no sense. The result MUST be a DTS 2.0 which is NOT compatible to any 'normal' CD-Player and which has absolutely no sound improvements. If you want to have some effects, youll better use the DSP programs of your Marantz AMP ;)

KpeX, by referring to the concept of a 'true' 5.1 stream I was merely answering TerraForce1's query as to why his conversion 'ain't spatial'. When converting 2 channel to DTS myself with a bit of processing I know what I'm getting myself in for, and not to expect something that sounds like it was originally mixed for 5.1. I have no problem with doing this and still find it to sound better than the original 2 channel when done right.
