ahoy fellow tech comrades

Here is my problem.

Another friend and I decided we want to try out a project. But we arent sure if it can be done. Heres what we are wondering, if you guys could assist, thatd be excellent!

Do you guys know if a dvd keeps the voices seperate from the BGM and Sound effects?? Like, could i extract the voice dialogue in a seperate file from say, a japanese cartoon, without the sound effects, and BGM? If not, is there any software that could maybe, analyse the audio spectrum and seperate the voice from the soundeffects and BGM? Or is it all digitally mixed? Or would i need some expensive equipment to do this task.

We want to re-dub a short 6 episode anime with the same dialogue, only with our voices, and the dialogue in our own words . We both have the same mics "radio shack digital studio mics."

So, can you guys assist in this technical problem we are having?

I've only been able to voice over parts that are silent with nothing but speech, and no sound effects. But we could never do the whole series without having some way of extracting the voices.

Thanks in advance fellaz
