...pile of $hit.

I bought this card like 3 years ago, I was able to capture ONCE. A couple of months ago I decided to give it a try under winXP... damn thing won't work. I've tried tons of drivers, several crappy Studio versions, asked for help in this and another forum, followed instructions carefully, and it didn't work (exclamation mark under system>hardware, and won't capture with studio x.xx nor amcap utility).

I decided to install win98 on another HD, but freakin thing won't work either!!! Several drivers, studio 7 and its upgrade, studio DC10 plus (why in hell they name the card exactly as the software, dammit), this time the driver installs "correctly" (no exclamation mark) BUT won't capture with above mentioned programs, the hardware test that comes with the studio programs says "error at video decoder".

This is frustrating, now I wonder if this piece of crap is physically damaged...

which capture card would you recommend in the <$150 range, that works under winXP/2000 and has decent quality, preferrably NOT a Pinneaple card?

thanks

The DC10+ works superbly for me and thousands of others. Why don't you get a replacement if you suspect the hardware is bad? Whining won't rectify things for you.

I wouldn't whine if it wasn't such a pain in the @ss to get this thing working. I'm no newbie in PC stuff but this really got into my nerves...

If I have problems with hardware, I try hard to get it to work, but now it's frustrating and annoying. I think the guarantee has expired, so a replacement won't be possible.

Do you know if there are any issues with AMD platforms? Maybe my chipset? I don't know where else to look... I'm running winXP in an XP2400+, MSI w/ KT333 mobo...

I've tried with Studio 7 and its upgrade, Studio 8... 5-6 "different" drivers, and nothing, I get the exclamation mark in the hardware page and it won't capture with Studio X or AMCAP, any other program?

Well, thanks in advance

I think you just have a broken DC10+. I have AMD XP1900+ and WinXP. Everything works just fine.
