Interlacing problem

I am trying to make a divx out of the Simpsons (1st season dvd set)

DVD2AVI says that it is film(about 70-90%) and NTSC the remainder. It fluxuates from these two durring the whole preview. From reading about interlacing from another post and guide written by hakko504, jggimi, and manono.. im assuming that there is interlaced stuff here.

So here is what i need some help with. I have tried forced film and Ive tried to deinterlace with the latest filters that are offered with gordian knots avs "maker". Both come up with decent results, but i know it could be better. Force film will leave a couple of spots (really hard to see but im anal so i see it all) that are liney. and the deinterlace tends to just mess things up or messes up the color. I notice a lot of color flickering (obvious the fileds are not allinging or that they are not present or something. When not forced film the discolorations are even worse on the interlaced parts (after a bob or weave or whatever is applied) almost all the filters look like crap to me. Either the image ghosts really bad(the frame--correction) or it ghosts and the more opaque image components are discolored from what they should be. this is not due to the dvd it self or the the source. Since i watch the source to make sure it is not something that should be there.

SOOO... how do i make the interlacing better. Do i need updated filters or soemthign? DO i need to write or edit the avs files. (i am willing to experiment.. but i need a little clue as to where to start. IE>"get these filters and make sure they up to date etc etc.... thanks

"I guess this goes here" hardly qualifies as a meaningful thread title and further more it is a forum rule 9 (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm) violation.

Hi-

Yeah, a better title might be helpful.

Did you try No Force Film in DVD2AVI, and then IVTC in the .avs? If you do a search you may find some Simpsons discussions.

ok i changed my title for this post... sorry about that..

im not sure the iverse telcline would produce decent results.. i used it on another source and it made a lot of artifacts..Ive also done the same file as NON_forcedFILM.. but it is really really interlaced then. and i get TONS of ghosting or blurring(not what it supposed to looke like when played from the dvd on my computer)
This is what im trying to reproduce before i encode.

im going to try some new plugins for avisynth i got...
and see what happens

One thing ive learned is that some of this is really hard to figure out. Id like to stay away from hand writting scripts for avisynth, BUT that is appearing to not be possible for ALL movie types.

So consider this subject CLOSED for now.. im going to experiment, study, read more posts and experiment, study, and read read read more. then before i put the gun to my head ill come back and ask a more educated question.
